Can't be afraid of the dark }
Monday, 22 February 2010 @ 21:00

Managed to force myself out of bed for my 9am lecture this morning. Am pretty proud of myself but not so much on the grounds that I am completely unprepared for my ICA on the digestive system on Friday which, I hate to mention, contributes 20% towards my end of year. I should be stressed right? Okay I'm stressed but I'm not motivated which defeats the whole purpose of being stressed. Ughhhhh! But to be fair, iron absorption is pretty interesting. Dyou know that Count Dracula might have suffered from Porphyria  Cutanea Tarda (PCT)? His fair complexion and deliberate eschewal from the sun are due to the effects of the disease. He'll develop an allergic reaction to sunlight exposure because of the congenital defect he had with a gene that codes for the enzyme Uroporhyrinogen III - important in the process of haem biosynthesis. So basically, his body can't make sufficient amount of haemoglobin so he drinks people's blood in attempt to counter his birth deficit although it doesn't quite work that way...

Anyhow, term's ending in 3 weeks time! Can't wait! So the plan for my very gernerously given 6 weeks holiday is that I'm going to stay in Brums and mug for 2 weeks and go back to party for 4 weeks. Sounds like a plan Batman! Thing is I haven't actually booked my tickets so ummmm, fingers crossed for flight availability. I'm very happy for my favourites back home and their good results! So very glad that the whole A level part of my life is over :] Now, I can't wait for the whole uni part of my life to fly pass. Lihxy's getting back her results tmrw! GOOD LUCK MY DEAR. Actually I'm not even worried for her. I have absolute faith :)

My all black attire with red heels (not visible here) I had the last time I went out. Which was many weeks ago cause I've been a good girl and med is not giving me any opportunity to play. Purposely chose this picture to emphasize the current state of my eyebags and dark circles. YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO ZOOM IN TO SEE THEM! And considering this was few weeks ago... MY CURRENT ONES ARE LIKE TWICE THE SIZE! I'm not even joking. Sigh I just hope my kids don't get monster eye bags like mine D:

Putting my incurable eye-luggages aside...

I MISS MY FAVOURITE LONDON GIRLS ): One of them (left) is going back to Msia and I really don't want her to go. Like London isn't far enough already! But I will have to sacrifice for the greater good. Good luck for your interview Lihx!!! Ace it but please don't end up going to Ireland. I will cry my optic nerves out. Fel on the other hand just came up with a solution to keep in perfect touch when we're all in different countries during Easter holidays - WhatsApp for Iphones! Basically it's like bbm but cooler cause Iphones are cooler than blackberry period. So go download the app if you're using an Iphone and we get to text each other for free anytime, anywhere!

Alrighty back to work now ciao x

OH I forgot to mention in my previous post! One of the best thing that happened this week is Lihxy getting her interview from Pennisula :D I am so proud of you dear! You deserve every single atom of that interview. You go girl!
Your love is my drug

Alright I admit I haven't been faithfully updating my tumblr as I promised but at least I'm not MIA-ing! The past few weekends have been great. Had the best time with Lihx like on two consecutive weekends in London <3 Now Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays feel so weird without her :( Miss you dearly! Celebrated Momo's birthday last Saturday and had the opportunity to catch up with Fel too! Spent the most peaceful and laid back Valentines with Lihx (The best date EVER!) and celebrated Chinese New Year with Jiejie @ her place! BEST WEEKEND EVER! I'm having SSA this week which is basically like reading week since I don't even have to do much for my SSA :) Celebrated soon-to-be landlady Mingmay's birthday on Monday! Crazy epic night filled with games like HI HARRY, Whizz, Twister and just lovely sing-a-long-karaoke session! Unsurprisingly passed out at the very end cause yeah, you got it, it was a party with booze haha. Mind you, I didn't even have that much. Sleepy drunk, sleepy drunk!

There you go! That's me dead in the corner. Joe had to carry me into Alex's room! Don't worry, I was in good hands :D

Told you it was a crazy night....

Trust me, we're true blue medics! Even during camwhoring, we are in anatomical positions - Arms alongside body, palms supinated and head facing forward! Notice the lipstick doodles on some of our faces? Thats the punishment, other than drinking, for the drinking games :) Notice how clean my face is!

Took like two days to recover from that night.

TODAY: Did lotsa productive shopping at topshop! Became a member - urhum 10% discount baby! Spent so much that I had to resist going into River Island which was just next door D: HAD to go into Oasis at the very end before leaving Bullring and saw this GORGEOUS GORGEOUS leather jacket which was sooooooooo comfy and ludicrously expensive. GAHH. 135 quid. OGRES. Anyhow, you will be glad to know that I didn't get it in the end cause I jolly well knew I needed the money for upcoming birthdays!

Went to Freshwinds at Selly Oak for SSA. Didn't learn much but had like free professional massages mmhmm lucky me. I heart aromatherapy! Can you believe it snowed yesterday? Like proper POURING snow. Swear it was hailing in the City Centre so I didn't go for Sign Language class yesterday (best class-skipping excuse: snowed in!). Had to go for this SSA thingy today so thank God the sun came out! Seriously, the weather over here is bizzare. I wonder how the organisms at the poles are doing. HELLO MR. POLAR BEAR, HOW YA FEELIN' TODAY?

Wasn't joking when I said the snow was heavy yesterday was I? Mind you this is what it looked like this morning! Took just a day and the snow was that thick. Couldn't feel my toes after that :(

Got loads of work to do and catch up! Was trying to arrange my wardrobe today... epic fail. I NEED TO BIGGER WARDROBE AND MORE HANGERS. Somehow or rather, without any rhyme or reason, the amount of clothes I have suddenly expanded. I can't wait for my wellies to arrive! Okay I shall end this post with a wee bit of camwhoring.

PS when I over-camwhore, it means I'm missing you guys A LOT. Yes YOU who's reading this. I MISS YOU LIKE HELL :(

By this time I think you'd have enough of my face already! So I shall end here. Will blog again tomorrow xxxx

Chanel / Balen?
Tuesday, 2 February 2010 @ 20:19

Time for my daily dose of material needs! I really like the one on the left not only because of the exterior but also the shocking hot pink leathery interior which is, quite obviously, not shown. Oh oh oh! I’m getting excited just by looking at it :) I’ve decided that I’ll get either the one on the left OR the balen one which I’m gonna post in a sec, for myself on my birthday!

Voila! Balen Money in pomegranate. What do you guys think? Balen or Chanel?

Am I'm really ashamed to be one. Unbelievable! I can't believe I left the card reader for my camera back in Singapore after all the trouble and pain I went through to get it! Bullocks. BULLOCKS! I'm really boiling mad at myself right now. Thing is I won't even be so mad if I didn't have pictures in my camera which I'm dying to upload :( God, I need a brain transplant. Ugh, fish it, I'll just order another one from Amazon, it's £2 anyway. I COULD GET AN OFF-PEAK RETURN TICKET TO UNI OR 2 CHEESE BURGERS WITH THAT £2!! Forget that, make it one CHEESE burger and one CHICKEN burger. UGHHHH (does yoga breathing OMMMMMMMMM)

Did a really good job sticking to my NYR today although I spent 2.5 hours consolidating notes for ONE lecture. Not very effective... but I tried! Honestly think I'm not destined to study or cut out for it or fated to be good at it ahhh whatever way you put it. Apart from being a fantastic crammer (which I'm secretly proud of), I can't do no study shit. Like actually study and REMEMBER things for more than 24 hours. Sometimes, I really wish I have photographic memory. Now I hope my kids will have photographic memory so they wouldn't be struggling as much as me in uni in whatever course they are keen to do.

Studies aside, I just found a huge amount of medication/diet supplements in my drawer. My parents have been trying to psych me into eating these diet supps (they constantly think I'm malnourished over here), everytime I leave for the UK, they secretly hide the pills in my luggage. And I never touch them - I just lie that I do hahahaha. So point is, it just occurred to me, after seeing my slow, steady and completely unintentional collection of pills that they have probably spent quite a lot on them cause most of the pills are made in USA? So yeah I've decided to start taking ALL of them regularly and faithfully. I'M SUCHA SENSIBLE CHILD :) Hopefully there won't be any complications with all the sudden mixing of medications.

The above picture only shows the TYPE of pills I have. The quantity I have for each type is UNBELIEVABLE. I'm not even joking. (Solemn face)

Just had a pleasant facebook surprise from my favourite housemate:

Awwwwwwwww! How sweet is this? (Hahaha duh-h I wrote it!). Gave her this tog with her 19th birthday present which was a LOVELY pair of Chanel earrings! Yeah I need to mention the present because sister and I walked like the whole Selfridges just to find a perfect present for my darling housemate and HAHA I woke her up at 2 in the morning I think? To ask her choose between earrings / bracelet! Good times :D

Anyway, while I was diligently fulfilling my NYR in Barne's library today, I decided that I should venture into other aspects of medicine that isn't much emphasized in my course but yknw, still related to it- something like a CCA? So I borrowed a book (FIRST book I've ever borrowed after my painful-£15-fine experience OUCHHH). Let me introduce my new book to you...

Psychology, Health and Medicine. BRING IT ON BABY!!

Okay I'm gonna zzz now.. can't afford to skip anymore uni Wednesdays! Arrivederci!
